Oopsie: Important Announcement

I just realized that I never officially announced the location of our wedding.

Mike and I will be getting married at The National Hotel in South Beach. The location is just amazing – chic, sophisticated, and with personality. Our ceremony and reception will both be held at the hotel by Zee Pool.

More details to come.

Wedding Photographer Booked

This weekend Mike and I officially secured our wedding photographer. They’re a husband and wife team from Miami that are just awesome. We instantly hit it off and knew they were going to make these photo sessions MUCH easier. (They bribed us with shots!)

Rock n’ Roll and Pizza

On Saturday, CasaMartinez opened up it’s doors to my two bestest friends – Xenia and Suzell as well as thier significant others (Pete and Xavier).  This was thier first visit to the condo and so we celebrated with signature martinis which Sue and I downed ourselves and a few simple appetizers I made.

Of course in true Vanessa fashion I was not ready when they came over because I had forgotten to purchase the main ingredient in my spinach dip – SPINACH! – and had to run over to Publix (yes, the one I hate) to grab a bag of those suckers! Thankfully the signature drinks were ready, the spinach dip had been prepared ahead of time (minus the spinach) and my super fabulous finace was there to greet our guests – in a towel, but he was there to greet them none the less.

The night though went fabulously! The boys started off the night by watching the second half of the Heat game and WE WON!!!! Then they moved on to playing a few songs on our Rock Band. And finally we were off to take a short Metromover trip to Mary Brickell Village for dinner. We ended up at this really delicious Italian pizza parlor called Piola and enojoyed the live Spanish music playing next door at Badrutts. It truley felt like we were in Europe for a split second.

After dinner we just walked around a little more, bought another six pack, and headed back to the condo for some more Rock Band…and of course birthday cake! Happy early birthday Xen!

It’s a celebration!

We’re so excited! Our families are hosting an engagement party for us in May and the invites are just arriving in our guests’ mailboxes!  It’s going to be a small, intimate gathering of our closest family and friends at the clubhouse of our building.

In even more exciting news, I have the PERFECT outfit! It’s a short, yellow and grey strapless dress that totally says “I’m the Bride”! I’m trying to find the perfect outfit for Mike  – one that matches my outfit and of course fits his personality. I’m sure he’ll look fabulous in whatever we find!

I’m just so excited because this is really the beginning of the events leading up to our BIG day! I hope all of you enjoy the various events as much as we will!

Let's toast to a lifetime of happiness!

Slacker Blogger

I’ve been the slacker blogger lately.  Mike and I are pretty busy with wedding decisions, as well as still making our new little apartment nice and cozy.

The apartment is coming along nicely. Most of the boxes are gone and items stored in thier new places. All of the real essentials have been purchased (or “borrowed” from our parents’ homes). : -)

Our real next step is decorating! That’s definitely a task I’m eager to start. Right now our walls and floors are bare and a sea of brown, tan, and white.  Soon though we will have COLOR – green, yellow, red, blue…well maybe not all of those colors, but a little splash of color here and there would work perfectly!

Once we get our camera fixed, which is in the plans for this weekend, hopefully I can post some pictures of the progress we’ve made in the apartment.

Talk to you soon!

Dog’s Heaven

Eat your heart out world this is the view from my new pad!

I hope I'm not acrophobic.

I hope I'm not acrophobic.

Things here are great! Lot’s of bitches female dogs which I get to scope out every morning before my peeps go to work and then for happy hour when Mike gets back from the office. Poodles, labs, chihuahuas, puggles…it’s heaven!

The weekend is only a few hours away, so I’m just hanging out in my bed getting some beauty sleep until Mike and Vanessa get home…I’m sure the building will be bumping this weekend with some more hot four-legged ladies so I’ll need to look good!

Later!
